FOWC with Fandango: Illusion

Clouds

I am a cloud person, they all have their shapes
Sometimes the might look like pears and often a bunch of grapes
They float around in the sky, never an intrusion
If you fly up in a plane, you might think they are an illusion
Try to touch a cloud, you hand will just past through
Miniature drops of water, forming a permanent dew
They even have their names with cumulus describing their shapes
Floating and drifting past, over all landscapes
It was only a few minutes hence I decided to take a photo
But this formation has gone, it had somewhere else to go
Clouds do not hang around, they are everywhere and nowhere
And illusion never they are, although suspended in air
They even change their colour from white to grey to black
Sometimes they might explode and form a cul de sac
But they are always there, moving in a shape and size
So I hold my head to the sky, have a stiff neck and not so wise.

RDP Saturday: Burble

Stream, St. Kathrinen Cemetery, Solothurn

Let’s go burbling said the brook to the stream
Streams do not go burbling, only in a dream
If a stream  went burbling there would be to many bubbles
The fish would not agree  and they would have some troubles
And so the brook burbled on its way, until it began to rain
but luckily it changed its course and tumbled down a drain
There was no burbling more to be done, it was gushing down a pipe
It carried on down and tried to stop, but it was all a hype
Now swollen and wide with many fish, but flowing very calm
It passed by hills and flowed through valleys  and even saw a farm
When the cows began to drink the water the brook it hurried on
Life was not the same today, the bubbling brook was gone
It passed through villages and afterwards towns, and even saw a tram
but then was deafened by a crashing noise and fell from the top of a damm
And the river which it had now become, meandered to the coast
The journey would still meet the end and find the outer post
It now had fish and tasted quite salty, it began to have a notion
But then it joined all the other brooks and became a part of the ocean

Good Morning

Herb Raised Bed

Presenting my new raised herb bed. Yesterday the gardeners said goodbye, the work is finished. They did good work and I am pleased with the result: no more bending to plant anything. I stopped planting because I could no longer do it. Even Mr. Swiss is pleased with the result. He is more into the conservative gardening where there is a lawn and flower beds but even he admits that this is a great improvement. There is sage, thyme, chives and savoury, with a couple of small flowering dianthus in between to fill it out a bit.

New Back Garden 05.10 (4)

I particularly like the finishing border beneath the hedge. They planted the small sedum and with time it will grow and expand. I had some of this in my old garden and it is really a worthwhile plant to have.

Flowerbed

I had my usual after dinner sleep yesterday and when I stopped hugging the bed I had a look and found that my flower beds were all ready to grow, the gardener had been busy. There is still a plant to come, but it all has time. We were lucky to have such good weather for the work to be done. I must say being a gardener is not a relaxing job when I saw how those guys worked with the heavy stones to complete it all.

Flowerbed

But now the job is done and I just have to wait for next year to arrive.

Raised Bed

This is my other raised bed with the flowers. I have crocus planted all around the edge of the bed so that will probably be my first flowers next year in Spring.

And now to attend to the normal daily chores. I had a little drama just now. I could not find my stick, but this is a golden oldie problem. Now Mr. Swiss also has one, so we are both searching for our sticks in between. I usually find mine quickly as I have more experience. He is still a learner, but this morning it was my turn. Mr. Swiss eventually found it leaning on the shelf in our little cleaning chamber.

Today I will be cooking and housewifing and Mr. Swiss will be shopping for a few odds and ends. I will spend my time watching the plants grow in my garden. In the meanwhile I hope your day goes well. Ours looked a bit stormy this morning, but nothing everlasting and now the sun is thinking about an appearance,
