Bethnal Green, London – The building stood there since I was born at the top of our street. The building is still there, but my street is long gone and now a park. It is used as a home for nurses in the local hospital, known as the Queen Adelaide.

I always thought that first one would make a good photo It is just a place for nurses to sleep if they are on night shift and has been there for at least 60 years, even longer probably.

It is, and its beautiful. I love architecture and am compelled to see all photos in the challenges because I love photography, but because everyone has a different and interesting take on each category which makes them even more appealing so I’m constantly delighted at your challenges. It’s awesome to see what people come up with.

I like all of your walls. The last one — I’m sure I’ve seen that building in at least ONE movie about London. It looks so very familiar … or maybe it’s a style of building. Great pictures, all of them.
Do you wonder who had the patience to cut all of those “round” shingles?

The last building has definitely never been in a movie because no-one makes movies with scenes from London in Bethnal Green. It was known as the Quuen Adelaide names after the wife of William IV of England.
The round shingles were probably a result of mass production. They were also in red and white.
