Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

Nice photo! Thanks for sharing 😀 I’ll definitely have to visit this place by myself one day 🙂

The Kanton of Solothurn, where I live, is not exactly complete Swiss tourist territory, but we have our fare share and it is a lovely place for hikes and walks.

Not to complicate your life, but due to my admiration of some of your photos , have you considered trying to sell them for calendars or even giving them for local projects. This photo is grand. It would make a great photo for a monthly calendar or such. Hugs

It is tempting, but is like the book I never bothered to write, although I did write one once, but only in self publishing and I am too lazy. My photos will one day be floating around in a cyber world with no owner, although I have them all on my computer and two hard disks. I leave them to fate.

How interesting a path. Do the carvings on the pole have meaning as well?

Yes, the carvings all have to do with the sybols of the planets, but I am no expert.

Must be a long trail! A great way to get a feel for the scale of the universe.

It is, although I never made it further than Mercury, and that was in the days when I could walk with support from a cane. It is all in the Jura mountains.

I’ve taken that Planetenweg as far as Saturn. Its quite the scenic trek.
We found a similar ‘Astrovia’ in Locarno. As a walk it’s long (straight, but would make for a great bike ride.
Thanks!

You have done more than me. I would love to do it, but unfortunately my long walking days are over due to MS. When the kids were smaller we often spent a day in the Jura taking scenic walks.

That really shows how far the planets are from each other, and why it is not so easy to go to Mars.

but It is an interesting walk and takes the better part of the day.

How cool! I’ve heard there’s a scaled model of the Solar System in Sweden as well, with the sun & some planets in Stockholm, and others further out as you go looking up to Pluto. It’s on my list of things to do 😉

I find it also a very good idea, and it certainly attracts wanderers in the summer months. It is quite a walk apparently. I have never done the complete length.
