I have been surrounded by machines over the past weeks, so what could be better than to take some photos. This crane was parked in my back yard for a morning.
And these are the pylons belonging to our local mountain railway cars where the cables are all hooked up.
And I saw this little hedgehog in the local store, just asking for a photo.
I love hedgehogs. I had a family of them from Germany when I was a child. I think they were made by Steiff. http://image0-rubylane.s3.amazonaws.com/shops/steiffgal/VMMRK1294.1L.jpg

Steiff is a very well known name, also in Switzerland. There was once a German film about Margarete Steiff and how she founded the company with the famous Steiff button in the ear of the toys. She was a very interesting lady.

This railway was only completed a few years ago and is quite modern.

A lot of people locally have been keeping hedgehogs as pets — which I think is a bad idea. Wild things do not do well in captivity. I like your version MUCH better!

A friend of mine, a farmer’s wife, had all sorts of sidelines. She bred guinea pigs, had more than a hundred of them, as well as tortoises. She then saw that the mini hedgehogs were becoming popular and so she had a few of them. They were breeding and having babies which were very sweet. Living on a farm she had plenty of room for them, and they seemed to be doing well.

The cable railways are really interesting for photos. The problem is that you often get the reflection from the window in the car as they don’t let you sit outside 🙂
