Back to normal in the daily trot, but somehow if you take a break in between it is not so much routine as it was. In spite of the invasion of the scaffolding and builders, my rudeckia, or as some call it black eyed susan, has managed to flower this year. The garden has had to look after itself as there were too many interruptions caused by the working force, but it has survived. We now have another monsoon season since two days, but I am not unhappy. I should clean over the windows, but it is raining, so there is no point. Mr. Swiss says I overdo it in any case, as they are never really dirty, but that is because I overdo it. Here and there deposits of building material have settled on the panes, but nothing that a quick wipe over with a cloth will not solve.
This morning I have been left on my own. Mr. Swiss made an early start to take our car to the garage where it will be nursed into a good condition. It is time for the annual service. The garage is in a next village, but they will give Mr. Swiss a free bus ticket to return home. He can pick the car up in the evening again.
I noticed that the Swiss National circus Knie is in town for its annual visit.
As we drove home from our shipping trip yesterday I saw the many caravans parked next to our high school. The tents were also placed in town, althugh I only saw the zoo tent where you can visit the animals. This circus is a Swiss institution and has its home at the end of the lake of Zürich in Rapperswil. I am tempted to visit their zoo to take a couple of photos, but it is in town and not here very long. I am not a circus person and find that the animals a better purpose in life that to do tricks for the public.
Mr. Swiss tells me that two countries are planing war games. Funnily enough this time it does not bother me one little bit. What is the point? If someone wants to show his new toys and the other one says if you do we will use ours as well, then little me in the middle of Switzerland, which would in any case disappear in a puff of smoke if attacked, could do nothing about it. Some panic. worrying that the world may not longer be here tomorrow. Somehow I am reminded of “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” where the earth had to go because it was in the way of a new galactic highway. It went, so what’s up. My main problem is how can a maniac in North Korea and a reality TV man in the States have so much power to have the possibility to bring about something that affects all of us. Have we learnt nothing?
And now to something completely different. I am off to clean my little world and drop a few bombs with my vacuum cleaner. There might even be some explosions with a mop, but I will survive and there will be no fall out afterwards.
Enjoy the day, and see you later if we are all still here.
