The first time I saw these in the flower store, I had to wonder what they were. According to the name they are known as Kangaroo paw, so I suppose there must be a similarity somewhere. In any case something completely different, and they are still selling them.

An interesting colour, in the wild they are red with the little green tips.

I have never seen them before. They sell them in pots here, a speciality and they probably grow wild everywhere downunder.

They are a native to Western Australia but grow well in gardens in Victoria.

Hi Pat, Kangaroo Paw grows here in Australia, its a native plant, I have some growing in my garden and they do come in interesting colours….but they are bit sensitive to climate…..
