What’s your strongest sense?
Oh, well, yes, not as good as they were. I wear glasses, have MS so brain messages do not always arrive where they should in the limbs and that would eliminate touch to a certain extent but I can still use the keyboard on my computer, and manage quite well with the iPad. My hearing is OK, but when you are a golden oldie you have learned to hear what you want to hear. I am quite good at concentrating on what I want to do, and that means certain noises can be eliminated. Taste is OK, and so is smell. However, I do not classify any sense being stronger than others. Oh wait, talking is my best sense, but it does not seem to be included in the list.
Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)
I was the third tallest in the class, so dwarf I could never be – I looked down at most people from my height and have maintained my 1 meter 75 cms to this day, although they do say you shrink as you grow older. From the dwarf choice of characteristics I asked Mr. Swiss. He settled for happy, although these days I do tend to sleep more than I used to.
If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?
The last three ages of man – won’t bother with the other four. I am probably the one in the middle.
“for the rest of my life”? That is a double edged wish for me. I would love to have my body functions from 40 years ago when I could get out of bed in the morning without having to think about how to do it. On the other hand I would loved to have known what I know now 40 years ago. Permanently 30 years old, no thanks. I would not be able to get half price on the local train.
List of Jobs You Think You Might Enjoy: Even if you aren’t thinking about a career change, it can be fun to think of other jobs you might enjoy.
I quite enjoy the job I have now, called retired. I can do what I want to, and even get paid for it. Just a few inconveniences like doctor visits in between. Of course I was never honoured with a Pulitzer prize for my photography, or a Nobel prize for my writing, but it is never too late. Seriously, I would love to write a best selling novel. Of course to be actually paid for taking photos would be a dream come true.
What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I was grateful for it being a week with smooth runnings: no problems, the builders have now stopped using noisy machines. I never realised the constant background drilling could be such a burden.
Have no plans for this week and hope that life continues as usual with no unpleasant surprises.
You have been real tolerant of all the work being done right now. I would have gone crazy. Although the photo ops would been real fun. 😀

Always look on the bright side. Lots of fit young men (and some older) working and I can take their photos. Also I have tons of odd balls just waiting in the wings, as well as which ways, although they are mostly on scaffolding. What could be better.

Great answers. Retirement? Yeah, that I aspire to. Next year for me. Actually this year. I’m out of here December 31, 2017! And, like you, all I want to do is photography. That great American novel still eludes me but second rate would be just fine. 🙂

Retirement is the best job I ever had, and I really didn’t think it would be. I can please myself when and what I do, although a little organisation must be, but your own – no boss to tell you when. Just came back from a walk with the camera, just great.

It’s hard to be “retired” as a job. I would settle for being a retired actor, retired very rich person … but retired is the key!

Retires is perfect, andI even get a wage – not quite the best, but I can live with it.

I’m glad the noise has lessened.
I like the rejection of being 30 forever.
It’s never too late! 😀

Being a golden oldie has its benefits. You always get a seat if the bus or train is full.

I so look forward to that job–retired. Yes, that one sounds just fine to me.

It’s certainly the best job I have had up to now. The holidays are great, just never ending.
