Flower of the Day: 31.05.2017 Candytuft

When I saw the German name “Schleifenblumen” in the supermarket (we are in the german speaking part of Switzerland) I had to look it up in the dictionary to see the English name. It is candytuft, a plant that brought back memories from my younger days in London. My uncle had it in his garden, it grew everywhere from its seeds and made a lovely background to the garden.

  1. I often wondered why it’s called Schleifenblume…. In my younger days I was looking actively for some sort of a Schleife…. 🙂
They are pretty but I haven’t seen them much anywhere but Switzerland.
