    • According to what I read in Wikipedia, it is also broom – it seems to come in various varieties. I got the name “Ginster”on the label attached to the plant, which is the german word for genista or, broom.

      • Oh I see – coming from the North of Scotland, I grew up with gorse and broom growing everywhere – I love it!

  1. Yes, it’s the commonly called broom (I’ve learned this in my time in UK), I don’t like it because it has a strong smell which gives me a horrible headache. I’ve seen them in pink, yellow, cream….
    If I’m not mistaken, I have seen donkeys eating it in the South…
