Feldbrunnen to Langendorf 06.02 (155)

The private road leading from our local castle Waldegg on the top of a hill to our village. As we live in the village, we have a permit to drive on the road. If you look through the trees at the end of the path, you will see a white building peeping through which is the beginning of our estate. On the right are the local stables.

The steps leading to our village church. around the church are various grave markers of well known and prominent people from the village.

The paths through the forests are still covered with snow, but now and again someone dares to take a walk.

  1. I love that road. AND your village. What a perfect setting. And great captures of it. We are getting (probably, unless the storm changes path) our first pretty big storm of the season. February really IS the snow month in this area. The can be other snow months too, anytime from December through early April, but typically, it’s this month. And this week. All our historically huge storms have been right in this time slot.

    • That road has been there for many years. Since I have lived in the village they replaced the trees lining the road for something new and in that time they have grown to the height they now are. I saw them young trees being supported by a wooden trestle. At the moment there is no snow and it is gradually disappearing, although more snow is predicted, but we do not have freezing temperatures which helps.

    • The castle is just across the main road up on the hill. It is use for various conferences and there is also a dining hall for weddings etc. You can walk around and view the rooms.
