Some of the ladies that work in the supermarket are also colleagues on Facebook where I crosspost my WP blogs and say they never realised that there were so many beautiful flowers in their flower shop. 🙂

I’ve never been game to try growing one but I find them quite amazing.

I wanted a plant for the kitchen table, something nice but no big trouble to keep.Mr. Swiss liked the bromelia and so I bought it. I never realised how fascinating it could become. The spike produces little flowers, and after a month or more it dries out. Then new leafy shoots begin to appear between the leaves and my dried out spike split in a couple of places where seeds appeared on some furry stuff. My bromelia now has four new shoots appearing and it is still looking good, interesting and strange. I am wondering what will happen next.
