Flower of the Day: 21.11.2016 The extra terrestrial flower

I really do not know what this is. I was busy with my phone camera and suddenly it appeared in front of the lens, so I took a photo. I was not sure whether it was just visiting from another world, or whether it was here to stay. Perhaps it has a name? Let me know if you recognise it. Not an every day appearance.

  1. You may want to try a software call Leafsnap which is supposed to identify plants and flowers by just taking their pictures. Or you could go to your local library and see what the botany books have to say.

I know that you don’t have Thanksgiving in your country but have a wonderful week and weekend!! Grace, Peace & Blessings!! ❤

        • I was going to mention something about thinking of the turkeys on thanksgiving, but I did not want to spoil the fun of it for you. We don’t even have the turkey tradition at Christmas in Switzerland, although I am quite partial to a turkey myself. We can get them in the shops.

          • Some Americans don’t eat or don’t like turkey. They may substitute chicken, Cornish Hens, Ham or even Duck. Those who are vegan I suppose just eats lots of veggies, rice and pasta. I read lots of Dickens as a young person and in college and wanted to know if British people actually have Goose for Christmas dinner? Thanks.

          • I grew up in London and when I was a kid we always had chicken and later when I was older we always had turkey. I have never eaten a goose and my mum told me that were very “fatty”.

  2. I think it may be one of the hybrid mums. There are a lot of them and some are quite strange looking.

I tried making goose a couple of times. Whatever it is you are supposed to do, I must not have done it right, because I didn’t find it greasy or fatty, but it was tough as nails!
