    • Catkins are a sort of growth on some trees before the actual fruit of the tree appears, usually at the end of March through April. I had a couple on my little walnut tree once and they always appear on hazelnut trees. That is why I am almost certain this is a hazel. I have a few wheat and corn field photos, interesting subjects.
