Here they are: No. 2 son and his wife. They were married today at the local registry office in Solothurn, Switzerland and Mr. Swiss and I were very happy and proud parents. Even the weather put on its best dress. The sun was shining and it was a great day.
Luckily Mr. Swiss was also taking photos, so here is another photo showing my No. 1 son on the left at the front and me on the right at the back dressed in blue. My No. 2 son and wife were talking to two friends who joined us after the wedding. It was a lovely day, I am so happy.

I thought I the title was tongue in cheek…that the groom had been ambushed. But I see I was totally off course. Your day was too special to be made light of. I’m sorry that I made that comment. I’m learning to be tactful!

Congratulations to the happy couple . I was married in a registry office and it lasted 44 years. You look good in blue.

It is law in switzerland that you have a civil marriage at the registry office. If you want a church wedding that’s OK you must have a registry office wedding as well. I only had a registry office wedding and that was 46 years ago.

That is the law too for Germany, you have to marry at the registry office. If you marry in church has more … decorational reasons …
