Daily Prompt: Familial Fests – International Day of Blog

Yesterday was Father’s Day in many countries. If you could dedicate a holiday to a more distant relative, who would it be — and why?

Surprise, surprise, I do not do YouTube on my blogs usually, unless requested by the blogging gurus as the theme. I do not like blogs with YouTube videos plastered all over, and let’s face it the taste of a golden oldie is certainly that not of a teenie rock/punk/hiphop and so I will not bore you with my Italian soft style moochy grouchy music. However if you have a fest, you celebrate something and what am I celebrating? Of course, International Day of Blog. The day when we all come together to blog our hearts out, have our monumental words heard all over the world. We are many nations that blog, we differ in our blogging ideas, but we come together to blog somewhere in the WWW.

First of all a song and here comes the video.

You see I have even heard of Sister Sledge and their hit. However, the words do not really fit the theme, so in the style of a true blogger, I rewrote them. Just imagine the swinging music in accompaniment to these new words.

We are the blogger kings
I got all my bloggers with me
We are the blogger kings
Get up everybody and blog

Ev’ryone can see we’re together
As we blog on by
(BLOG!) and we blog just like letters of a word
I will tell you lots of stories
(ALL!) all of the bloggers around us they write
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the blog
We’re giving love in a blogger dose

Blogging life is fun and we’ve just begun
To get our share of the blog delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
The blogging goal’s in sight
(WE!) no we don’t get depressed
Here’s what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won’t go wrong
This is our blogging Jewel

Of course our faithful blogging site will support us in all our efforts, I am sure. A little public relations always forms the image of the company responsible for the organisation and we can always rely on our WordPress virtuals.

I am sure they would send each one of us a WordPress t-shirt to show that we are one of the family. On International blogger day we would all sit at our computers, hammering out our cries of “join in brothers, there is room for you” wearing the t-shirt. Just in case, if someone in the WordPress virtual central is reading this epic blog, I am size XXL, but European XXL to cover my voluptuous curves.

I am sure we could rely on the Pulitzer groups to donate a reward for all faithful bloggers on this day. Blogger of the year would be announced, rewarded with a golden statue, something like the “Oscar” but perhaps named the “Bloggy”. There are so many possibilities.

We would have to choose a date for this memorable day. I would select 2nd May which is the birthday of David Winer. Who? Just read it in Wikipedia. I searched in Internet and found he is the supposed founder of blog. Perhaps I am wrong, so you may correct me. 2nd May is a good day, not too hot to blog and not too cold. The computers will be running all over the world.

Inform your local newspaper of this day. Ensure they reserve a page or two for your best blogs and if possible organise an interview on your local television station, no, on your national television network. Bloggers let your blogs be read on this International day of Blog all over the world. Unite in one blog voice and revolutionise the blogging world. And do not forget to wear your WordPress t-shirt if you appear on the TV.

  2. What is all that fuss with the WordPress t-shirts? Are they a gift to some famous bloggers? Do the WordPress people sell merchandise now? Is it simply a joke? I would like to know.
