I suppose if you are not colour blind or a carrier like me, oh I went through all that yesterday. Anyhow I think they do tend to be a little on the bluish side and perhaps are related to the violet shades. Anyhow orchids are a thankful flower and I always have a few in the living room. Mr. Swiss has said I tend to overdo it now and again, but that was when I had 20 orchids, some flowering, and some that might flower again. The care time was also almost an hour weekly.
I found that instead of buying cut flowers and putting them in a vase, orchids are more thankful. Their flowers last at least 2-3 months and they are quite reasonable in price compared to what I would pay for a bouquet which would probably give up after a week. They are also no problem with care. Just once a week a full watering and then forget them. Since I discovered the fertiliser sticks it is even easier as I don’t have to feed them. Just a stick or two in the pot and forget it for a couple of months.
Orchids are ideal for lazy people like me that prefer to look after their computer more than their plants. Yesterday I had to dispose of an orchid. It was quite sad, but it only had two leaves which dropped off when I touched the plant and the stalks were turing brown.
I love orchids and this ones are o beautiful!!

They are very thankful I find. You always have a flower in the home with orchids.

Such pretty flowers! Maybe I should get an orchid plant, if they are easy to keep. I don’t have a green thumb at all, though.

I have been lucky with my orchids. I have them inside near the window, but not in direct sunlight. They really do not need a lot of water. I usually fill the pot with water and let them stand for about ten minutes. Drain them off and then leave them for a week. That seems to work. They usually live well for a couple of months and sometimes they might flower again. If you buy a bunch of cut flowers weekly it is more expensive than one orchid every 2-3 months and orchids are now quite inexpensive, at least in Europe.

They always have special offers in our local supermarket and that is where I usually buy them. Now and again they do blossom again. I just like to keep them until they give up.

Although 20 were too many, it was becoming a full time job. Now I like to keep them at a manageable amount.

I find them a good investment for a nice flower at home. Not a lot of work and they last a long while.

I always envy you ability to grow orchids. I tried, but failed. You need the right temperature, the right light. I didn’t have it. The color on those is simply gorgeous!

They seem to like our environment and stay flowering for a long while. Of course I talk to them now and again, but up to now have not got an answer.

“Orchids are ideal for lazy people like me that prefer to look after their computer more than their plants.” I never knew. I might have to try one.

I used to have a neighbour whose orchids would live for years. I always felt quilty when he’d give me one and they would die after a couple of months.

Although I have some success I have not been able to keep them for years. About 2-3 years is the limit and they do not always flower again.
